Synvisc

Synvisc is a brand of hyaluronic-acid-based injectables that treat pain related to osteoarthritis (OA). Manufactured by the pharmaceutical company Sanofi, Synvisc incorporates gel-like fluids also known as viscosupplements to improve the joint inflammation in the knee, hip, ankle, and shoulder. It is especially effective for patients, who have not experienced sufficient relief from conservative non-pharmacologic treatments or simple pain relievers. The results of the treatment with Synvisc can last up to 26 weeks.
